H. Ravn et al: Balmorel: A Model for Analyses of the Electricity and CHP Markets in the Baltic Sea Region (2001).

This is the main report from the original Balmorel project (1999-2001). The purpose of this project was to develop a model for analyses of the power and CHP sectors in the Baltic Sea Region. The project was carried out in co-operation with researchers and organisations from most countries around the Baltic Sea.

The report provides an introduction to the Balmorel model, emphasising a description of the Baltic Sea Region, the challenges met there and the possible applications of the model for enhancing the analyses, understandings and actions in relation to this. The report has been kept non-technical.

The functionalities of the model have now been substantially widened, and the geograhical scope  of the model has for a long time been far larger than the original focus region, as the applications demonstrate.

However, the report still provides a relevant introduction to modelling and analysis of energy related issues. Get it here.

This is a report from the original Balmorel project (2001). It gives the theoretical background for the Balmorel model, presenting some basic ideas and properties. Get it here.

Poul Erik Grohnheit and Helge V. Larsen: Balmorel - Data and Calibration (2001).

This is a report from the original Balmorel project (2001). The purpose of this project was to develop a model for analyses of the power and CHP sectors in the Baltic Sea Region. The geographic scope of the model has for a long time been far larger than the original region and the data in this document are outdated but there are methodological considerations that still are relevant. Get it here.

Under the "Publications" section in the menu there are papers that give case oriented documentation of various details and developments of Balmorel.
